Your attention is drawn to the terms and conditions of the Software License regarding the use of NAG software. Requests for information about the availability of other implementations must be referred to NAG.
This implementation is a compiled, tested, ready-to-use version of the NAG Fortran Library that is considered suitable for operation on the computer systems detailed below:
hardware: Intel(R) Mac 64 systems and compatible operating system: Mac OS X 10.7 Darwin Kernel Version 11.4 and compatible Fortran compiler: NAG Fortran Compiler for Apple Intel Mac OSX 64-bit Release 5.3 and compatible
This implementation was produced at NAG Ltd., Oxford on the computing system detailed below:
hardware: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2415M CPU @ 2.30GHz operating system: Mac OS X 10.7.5 (11G63b) Darwin Kernel Version 11.4.2 Fortran compiler: NAG Fortran Compiler Release 5.3.1(907)
This implementation was also tested at NAG Ltd., Oxford on the computing systems described below:
hardware: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2415M CPU @ 2.30GHz operating system: Mac OS X 10.8.3 (12D78) Darwin Kernel Version 12.3.0 Fortran compiler: NAG Fortran Compiler Release 5.3.1(907)
hardware: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5520 @ 2.27GHz operating system: Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K549) Darwin 10.8.0 Fortran compiler: NAG Fortran Compiler Release 5.3.1(907)
The NAG Fortran Library, Mark 24, was compiled with the highest level of optimization that enabled the functionality provided by the library to be verified and validated.
This library has been tested using the Basic Linear Algebra Subprograms (BLAS) and Linear Algebra PACKage (LAPACK) routines provided by NAG (see the Chapter Introductions for F06, F07, F08 and F16 in the NAG Mark 24 Library Manual, which we will refer to as the Library Manual).
The library has also been tested with the Apple Computer's vecLib versions 3.7 and 3.8.
Please note that there are some missing units from the Apple Computer's vecLib version 3.6. If you are using this old version of vecLib you will not be able to use the supplied pre-compiled libraries libnag_vl.a and libnag_vl.dylib (see Users' Note, Accessing the Library) or the scripts nag_example_vl and nag_example_shar_vl (see Users' Note, Example Programs).
Please check the following URL:

for details of any new information related to the applicability or usage of this implementation.

The files require approximately the following disk space:
Library software: 142 MB Library Manual: 252 MB
If you have downloaded the Library materials from our web, double click on FLMI624D9L.dmg. This will extract the two packages FLMI624D9L.pkg and "NAG Fortran Library Manual, Mark 24.pkg" in addition to the files in.html, un.html , LicenseInstaller and the folder resources.
By default, the Library Software will be installed in /opt/NAG/. In this document we refer to the directory /opt/NAG/flmi624d9l as [INSTALL_DIR].
The directory [INSTALL_DIR] is referenced in the Users' Note (un.html).
The directory [INSTALL_DIR]/scripts contains several scripts to show how to use the libraries provided with this implementation. See Users' Note, Example Programs. Subsequent to the installation, if the installer moves the library to some other location then these scripts must be changed to reflect that fact.
To install the Library manual, double click on "NAG Fortran Library Manual, Mark 24.pkg".
By default, the Library Manual will be installed in /opt/NAG/. You are encouraged to make it readily available to users.
A short term (demonstration or trial) license key contains one or more lines like the following:
FLMI624D9 TRIAL 2012/11/12 "EMnxidA3oeoj0F1Yvi5ibxPjB7"Specifically, it has a line containing the word TRIAL. Longer term license keys must be locked to a specific computer, i.e. they will enable the software on one computer only. These license keys include the word NODE instead of the word TRIAL above.
In order to enable the software, NAG will issue you with a license key. The license key is contained in a text file consisting of details of the software that will be enabled.
License key request and installation is performed through the Apple Installer when flmi624dcl.pkg is installed. During installation, you will be prompted for a license key. If you do not have a license key, a request form will be generated for you to complete and send to NAG via fax or e-mail.
Once you have obtained one of the above license keys it MUST be installed by running the license installer License Installer.app. By default, the license installer will save the license key in /opt/NAG/nag.key (prepends the file if it exists). The Library will then validate the license at runtime.
If you need to update or change the license key after installation, we recommend that you run the license installer again.
Further details about Kusari and how it may be configured to suit your local circumstances (e.g. how to install the license key on a server) are included in the Kusari License Management documentation in the license/doc/ subdirectory of the software distribution. See also the Kusari FAQ: http://www.nag.co.uk/Kusari/kusari_faq.html.
The following material should also be made accessible to users:
documentation files:
The nagdoc_fl24 directory contains the Library Manual.
compiled libraries:

c_headers/nagmk24.h c_headers/techdoc.html c_headers/c_examples/*.c c_headers/cpp_examples/*.cpp c_headers/data/*.d
Note that the example material has been adapted, if necessary, from that published in the Library Manual, so that programs are suitable for execution with this implementation with no further changes (but see Section 3.3 of the Users' Note for comments about possible differences in results obtained). Making the example material directly available to users provides them with easily adaptable templates for their own problems.
The NAG Response Centres are available for general enquiries from all users and also for technical queries from sites with an annually licensed product or support service.
The Response Centres are open during office hours, but contact is possible by fax, email and phone (answering machine) at all times.
When contacting a Response Centre, it helps us deal with your enquiry quickly if you can quote your NAG site reference or account number and NAG product code (in this case FLMI624D9L).
The NAG websites provide information about implementation availability, descriptions of products, downloadable software, product documentation and technical reports. The NAG websites can be accessed at the following URLs:
