Coordinator

Dassault Aviation SA: (French Aircraft Manufacturer) project coordinator; development of 'stochastic optimization' algorithms (genetic algorithms & simulated annealing); end-user of design optimization tools in aircraft design optimization problems.

Partners

• NAG Ltd: development of commercial tools using IRIS Explorer; contributor of numerical optimization software; commercialisation of optimization libraries developed by project; responsible for marketing strategies and dissemination.

• INRIA: (French computing research institute) development of prototype tools; integration of optimization technology.

• University of Jyvaskyla: (Finnish University) development of optimizers (in particular gradient-based non-smooth optimizers).

• Nokka Tume: (Finnish manufacturer of forestry machinery) end-user with design optimization problems to be solved using DECISION optimization environment.

• MESSET: (Finnish manufacturer of electret and Electromechanical films) end-user with test problems concerned with structural design of electromechanical film (EMF) flat loudspeakers and with their optimal placement in a room.

• VTT: (independent Finnish research centre) licensing rights holder of EMF technology in MESSET test problem; supplier of acoustic testing facilities.
