This is the README file for the NAG Fortran Compiler Release 5.2.
(For Mac systems)
1. Installation
You will need to be logged in as root to complete the installation process.
Double-click on the compiler package (NPMI652NA.pkg) to start the
installation process.
The installation may be tested by compiling and running the utility
program f90_util.f90, which is provided in the same directory as the
compiler library files (/usr/local/lib/NAG_Fortran).
To compile and link this program, open Terminal.app located in the
Utilities sub-folder of the Applications folder.
At the shell prompt, type
nagfor -o f90_util /usr/local/lib/NAG_Fortran/f90_util.f90
The compiled program (f90_util) may now be run by typing
./f90_util
2. Licensing
NAG Fortran is a licence-managed product using Kusari.
License key request and installation is performed through the Apple
Installer when NAG Fortran is installed. During installation, you will be
prompted for a license key. If you do not have a license key, a request
form will be generated for you to complete and send to NAG by
e-mail.
Once you have obtained a license key you can enter it into the installer.
By default, the installer will save the license key in
/usr/local/lib/NAG_Fortran/nag.licence. NAG Fortran will validate
the license during compilation.
If you need to update or change the license key after installation, we
recommend that you run the installer again.
KLICENCE contains further details about Kusari and how it may be configured
to suit your local circumstances.
The use of all supplied software must be in accordance with the terms and
conditions of the Software Licence signed by NAG and each site. Any request
to use NAG software on a computer other than the one licensed must be
referred to NAG.
3. Release Notes
Brief notes on the differences between releases 5.1 and 5.2 of the NAG
Fortran Compiler are in the file RELNOTES.txt in the doc subdirectory. The
release notes are given in full in PDF (doc/RELNOTES.pdf) and HTML
(html/RELNOTES.html).
4. Documentation
Documentation is provided in both HTML (in the html subdirectory)
and PDF (in the doc subdirectory). The complete Compiler Manual in
PDF can be found in the doc subdirectory. On Unix systems, most of
the documentation is also available in troff format in the man
subdirectory, which might be installed to your normal man directory
structure during installation.
5. Reporting bugs
Please send all bug reports and any other comments on the software to:
support@nag.co.uk
or
support@nag.com (North America only)
