Stephen has worked at NAG for 8 years, starting work on the European-funded project EUReDIT that investigated methods for dealing with missing data. He was Technical Project Leader for the NAG Data Mining Components product, and continues to support this product. Stephen's main tasks now include writing algorithms for and supporting the statistical chapters of NAG's main libraries, providing consultancy to a wide range of market sectors and collaborating with academic institutions.
Before working at NAG Stephen was a post-doctoral researcher at Universite de Montreal, working with a network of North American universities on applied mathematics projects under the MITACS scheme and modelling data for (and funded by) Bell. Prior to Montreal, Stephen was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Huddersfield working on several forensic classification projects after he completed his CASE Ph.D. on Modelling Rainfall Events with Hydraulics Research Ltd., Wallingford in 1998.
