NAG Announces Changes to Executive Team
August 2007. The Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG), the world's leading provider of mathematical and statistical software components for academia, announces changes to its Executive Team. Susan Shayler has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Deputy Director at NAG Ltd; her appointment as COO adds to her existing role as Group Financial Controller for all NAG operating companies. Susan assumes the COO and Deputy Director responsibilities from Steve Hague.
Ian Reid, formerly Vice President for Business Development, has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer for the NAG Group with responsibility for leading the development of commercial strategy. Mike Dewar, previously appointed in late 2006 as Chief Technical Officer for the NAG Group, has been named an ex-officio member of the NAG Board of Directors. Susan, Mike and Ian are members of NAG's Senior Management Team and have played a major part in NAG's previous and current technical and commercial endeavours.
The changes in the executive team coincide with NAG's continuing success in software provision to both academia and industry with the organization seeing its largest ever research agreement, signed in March 2007, for the provision of computational science and engineering support for users of the UK's High End Computing Terascale Resources (HECToR) project.
Former COO of NAG Ltd and CTO of NAG Group, Steve Hague, has formally retired but remains active at NAG, continuing to work on several strategic projects and providing counsel to the senior management team. Steve was the company's first full-time employee, joining NAG (then an inter-university project) in 1971. In the 36 years since then, Steve has served in virtually every technical and commercial role at NAG and been a key contributor to NAG's growth and development.
CEO of NAG Group, Rob Meyer commented on the recent changes to the executive team "In announcing these changes in the executive team we recognize the contributions of these individuals and solidify the team that we expect to lead NAG for some time. We also acknowledge a huge debt of thanks to Steve Hague who has so ably served NAG since its inception."
About NAGNAG is dedicated to making world-class cross-platform mathematical, statistical, data mining components and tools for developers as well as 3D visualization application development environments. NAG serves it customers from offices in Oxford, Chicago and Tokyo supporting over 10,000 customer sites worldwide in finance, engineering, and scientific research.
