NAG Ltd recognized as an 'Investor in People' for the second consecutive time
April 2009. The Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG), provider of world-class numerical software and high performance computing services, is delighted to announce its recognition for the second time as an Investor in People (IIP). IIP is the UK's quality standard for best practice employee policy, and procedures for employee care and development.
NAG first attained IIP accreditation in April 2006 and since then has continued to invest and develop its most valuable asset: its people. NAG operates an open communication system ensuring that staff are aware of the company's business strategy, goals and their individual objectives. New ideas are welcomed and employees play an active role in setting their own goals as well being actively engaged in decisions about their own learning and development.
During the recent assessment conducted by an external IIP assessor, all areas of NAG's employee policy and procedures came under scrutiny including the appraisal system, personal development and training and management styles and techniques.
Commenting on the accreditation Susan Shayler, Chief Operating Officer, NAG Ltd who led the IIP team, said 'We are delighted to retain our IIP accreditation as everyone has worked tremendously hard over the last three years to improve the way we recognise and develop our people. We have really focussed on the importance of communications, training and development having realised these are all key factors in helping us achieve our business goals. This effort has been rewarded with considerable improvements in all areas of our business. Our intention is to develop further our profile in IIP and aim to achieve a further level of accreditation in the future.'
